7 Presentation Killers

You read that right. This post is not about killer presentations. It outlines seven deadly mistakes that will stop people from hearing your important message. Even worse, you may put your audience to sleep or drive them out of  your room.

  • Weak Opening – Many presenters kill their presentation with their opening words. They start by introducing themselves. They state their name, their company’s name, and the topic they will present. What’s wrong with that? For starters, it’s unnecessary information.

If you’re the presenter, someone has already introduced you. Plus, your name, your title, your company, and your topic don’t mean anything to your audience – yet. They will only have meaning when you have delivered value.
